You take ownership of embedded systems from development to deployment and ongoing optimisation. Your work will shape the system architecture behind more than 100 deployed units across the world, moving toward 500 systems over the coming 1–2 years, and will contribute directly to the roadmap of Claviate’s next-generation embedded device.
As part of the hardware R&D team, you work closely with hardware engineers as well as backend and frontend developers. Your responsibilities include: Maintaining and improving existing Linux/Python/Docker IoT devices Developing firmware for new embedded systems on their product roadmap, in close collaboration with hardware engineers Implementing monitoring, diagnostics, and update pipelines for their global fleet Participating in prototyping and validation Creating clear documentation and well-structured task plans to ensure smooth execution Driving cross-functional alignment between hardware, software, and service teams You may also participate in international site visits related to deployment or service, if relevant.
Strong interest in firmware, embedded systems, and reliable product execution You bring a solid technical foundation within embedded systems and firmware development, combined with a structured and proactive way of working. You are comfortable working close to both hardware and software and understand how to translate technical complexity into reliable, well-functioning solutions.Technical skills: You have strong experience working with Linux-based environments and are confident using Python and Docker as part of your daily workflow. You have hands-on experience with firmware development for embedded systems and a solid understanding of electronics, embedded platforms, and hardware debugging.
In addition, you likely bring: Experience with low-level programming such as C/C++ is an advantage The ability to document solutions clearly and communicate technical decisions A relevant degree within electronics engineering, embedded systems, mechatronics, or similar.
Professional strengths: You work in a structured and methodical way and naturally create clarity around tasks and priorities. You take ownership across the full lifecycle – from idea and planning to prototype and validation – and you are motivated by seeing solutions work in practice.
To succeed in this role, it is important that you: Collaborate effectively across hardware and software teams Maintain overview and prioritise in a dynamic environment Communicate clearly and take a proactive, responsible approach Are fluent in English, both written and spoken Candidates with different levels of experience are relevant, but you are characterised by ownership, structure, and the ability to create progress in complex environments.
For the right candidate, there is potential to grow into broader coordination or project-focused responsibilities over time—if desired. Shape your role in a growing global tech platform You step into a central role with direct impact on product development and system architecture.
You can expect: A central role in developing Claviate's next-generation hardware and firmware platform Flexible working conditions in the Aarhus office A multidisciplinary setup where structure, reliability, and clear prioritisation are essential.
Close collaboration across hardware, software, and service teams A high-ambition culture with professionalism, humour, and practical ownership Significant freedom to shape your domain and your own development path International exposure through their global deployments Apply here Claviate is a rapidly growing tech company developing AI-powered camera and data systems for offshore and onshore wind projects worldwide.
