Engineer – Custom Made Medical Devices (CAD & Manufacturing)

Share Do you want to design devices that are made for one specific patient – and know that your work directly impacts their treatment? We are looking for an engineer to join our Custom Made Device (CMD) team, where we develop and deliver Class III medical devices tailored to individual patients with complex vascular conditions.
What makes this role unique: In this role, you don’t just design devices – you configure and validate patient-specific solutions under tight timelines. Every case is different, and your work directly supports patients who have no standard treatment options.

Responsibilities You will take technical ownership (drafting) of the design for manufacturing preparation of custom stent grafts – ensuring that each solution is precise, within the limitation guidelines, compliant, and ready for production.
In addition, you will contribute to the development of new design elements and features, helping to expand the product portfolio through close cross‑functional collaboration with both local and global colleagues. You will join our local CMD team within the Post Market Engineering department - a team with diverse competencies, all dedicated to delivering tailor‑made devices to patients worldwide.
As an engineer, you will hold technical responsibility for the manufacturing of CMDs, working closely with both planning and manufacturing. In this role, you will provide technical sparring, support daily decision‑making, and contribute to ensuring smooth and efficient execution across the CMD process.

Your key responsibilities: Create patient-specific graft designs and production drawings (CAD) Ensure alignment between clinical input and manufacturable solutions Verify dimensions, tolerances, and technical specifications Approve configurations within defined quality and regulatory frameworks Collaborate closely with planning, manufacturing, and clinical stakeholders Contribute to continuous improvements and development of new design features including relevant testing of prototypes in collaboration with the CMD team Update relevant manufacturing instructions, Quality Management System (QMS), and technical file including risk management.

Qualifications Employee Profile: We are looking for an experienced engineer with a high degree of methodical work practice and independence. Your practical, structured, and analytical approach to tasks, combined with a strong sense of quality and attention to detail, will make you well suited for this role.
