Mechanical Design Engineer
In a time of climate change and global warming, we are actively rethinking and developing new technologies to reduce CO₂ emissions. Our Four-Stroke Design Department is looking for a new colleague to work on the growing number of development tasks and increasing product complexity.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about turning theories and ideas into real-world designs. We are looking for a strong team player who is motivated to develop and maintain our engine program in response to stricter emission regulations, future fuels, new production technologies, and to create solutions and adaptations based on customer requests in connection with new sales.
Your primary tasks will relate to the design and processing of key data for our four-stroke medium-speed engine program, primarily for the commercial marine sector. Your daily work will focus on your own tasks and projects, while also providing ongoing support to the wider organization.
Over time, you will have the opportunity to shape the content of your role in directions that best motivate you. You will play an important role in: Helping us to achieve our ambitious "Zero Emission" goals for the green transition. You can do that by: Designing and coordinating new components, as well as optimizing existing products Developing solutions to meet customer requests in connection with new sales Designing solutions to improve our engines in service Coordinating task execution both internally and with colleagues in other countries Providing technical support to other departments, subcontractors, and customers worldwide Acting as a technical project coordinator within your area of expertise and participating in broader project work We imagine that you: Are an Engineer, Marine Engineer or have a similar technical background that goes with your: Strong technical understanding Interest in and understanding of data processing and engineering processes Independent, committed, and results-oriented working methods Interest in and familiarity with 3D design tools (preferably CREO) Good communication skills, both verbal and written (in Danish and English) You will be part of a design team of seven colleagues based locally in Holeby, each with their own area of expertise, supported by two colleagues located in Aurangabad, India.
The department's tasks are mainly focused on creating application designs for our Genset and propulsion engines. The department has extensive interaction with other business areas and serves as a key pillar within these domains. It is a well-balanced team consisting of both younger and experienced colleagues with strong technical insight.The working environment is informal yet focused, with the possibility of up to two remote workdays per week. In 2027, we will move to a newly built headquarters in Trekroner (Roskilde). After a basic training period in Holeby, there will be an opportunity for flexibility between working from Holeby, Copenhagen, and your home address.
