Postdoc in epidemiology
The project will combine epidemiological data from population-based cohorts in nine European countries, including a Danish nationwide cohort. Investigating the impact of environmental pollution on the risk of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in a Danish nationwide cohort.
Both studies are based on an already established nationwide Danish cohort with information on long-term residential exposure to air pollution, traffic noise, and green space for all residents, along with nationwide data on incident cancer and SES.
As part of project 2, we are in the process of estimating the concentration of pesticides and chlorinated solvents in tap water of all Danish addresses, which will be linked to the nationwide dataset and included in both research projects. You will contribute to the success of both studies by applying your experience in project leadership, combined with your strong epidemiological and analytical skills.
The Work, Environment and Cancer research group is a dynamic team of researchers dedicated to studying the effects of environmental and occupational exposures on the development of cancer and other diseases. The MIREYA project is a collaboration between 21 European research institutions.
The NHL project is conducted in collaboration with GEUS (Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland) and the Danish National Institute of Public Health. Your main responsibilities Participate in linking tap water pollutants from water supply areas to Danish residential addresses Link job exposure matrices on chlorinated solvents and diesel to already established job histories Generate final datasets with data on environmental and occupational exposures, cancer and potential confounders for the Danish population Collaborate with the key partners in the MIREYA project, including receiving and running statistical scripts for harmonization across cohorts Conduct statistical analyses of the relationship between environmental pollutants and cancer risk Write scientific papers for international peer-reviewed journals Participate in and present results at MIREYA consortium meetings Qualifications PhD in epidemiology, statistics or a related discipline Experience in planning and conducting statistical analyses within quantitative epidemiological research Solid programming skills, preferably in SAS and/or R Experience with GIS programs, such as QGIS, is an advantage Experience leading projects, with strong skills in organising, planning, collaboration and communication Documented experience in writing and publishing scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals Excellent English skills We offer An inspiring and dynamic working environment in an interdisciplinary research centre (biologists, human biologists, public health scientists, doctors, data managers, psychologists, statisticians, etc.) where we work with many different epidemiological and biological topics.

Furthermore, we have a postdoc network that arranges regular meetings and seminars.Salary, pension, and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish government and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
