Postdoctoral researcher for register project at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen
We are searching for a postdoctoral researcher for a triennial project at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen starting June 2026. Research project and tasks In the project we will do a long-term follow-up of children and young adults who have been treated for overweight in childhood.
The purpose is to investigate their long-term health outcomes, school-related well-being and socioeconomic characteristics. In the project we will utilize national Danish registers such as the National Patient Register, the National Prescription Register and the Danish National Child Health Register.
The results will provide new and important knowledge about the long-term development in health and well-being after treatment for overweight in childhood and youth. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with an interdisciplinary project team at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, consisting of epidemiologists, statisticians, masters of public health and nutrition, and researchers with other health related backgrounds.
In addition, there will be collaboration with external partners. Your specific tasks will be to conduct data management and statistical analyses of data and to communicate results, both in scientific papers and in the form of reports, as well as at relevant scientific conferences and to clinical- and lay audiences.
You will be part of a dynamic research environment in the Department for Clinical Epidemiological Research in close collaboration with researchers from the Department of Prevention, Health Promotion, and Society. Clinical Epidemiological Research drives epidemiological research based on registers, clinical data, and large population-based studies.

Qualifications You have a relevant background (PhD degree) and experience within public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, medicine or similar.
Experience with epidemiological studies and analysis of register data is an advantage. We expect that you master R. Experience with research within overweight in children is an advantage. You have experience with collaborative research and good interpersonal skills.
You are good at communicating and you are proficient in Danish and English, in writing and verbally. Conditions of employment The employment will be in accordance with the relevant agreements in the Regions with the possibility to negotiate supplements after qualifications.
Employment is restricted to three years. The weekly working hours are 37 hours.
