About the position In the position as student programmer, you will become part of a dynamic workplace and gain valuable hands-on experience with programming and data analysis. You will be affiliated with one or more of the research fields and projects listed below within labour market research and education economics.Your specific tasks will be agreed upon on an ongoing basis with the lead researcher on the projects, Daisuke Adachi.
You will, among other things, be involved in: Assisting researchers with data processing via programming in various coding languages, including SAS and Stata Working with register data from Statistics Denmark (Danmarks Statistik), including helping to structure and analyse the data Using statistical software to estimate econometric models Reporting tasks, including the production of tables, figures, etc.

Reading relevant research literature, as well as collecting and processing information from the internet for research databases Ad hoc administrative assistance to project leaders The project analyses various aspects of adult education and training, consisting of two subprojects: one focusing on vocational education (erhvervsuddannelser) with an emphasis on the retraining (omskoling) of unskilled adults, and the other examining AMU programmes and adult/continuing education for individuals already in employment.

About you We imagine that you are currently enrolled in a degree programme in economics, mathematical economics, or political science–economics. We expect that you have a general interest in programming as well as in working with data collection and data analysis.
In addition, we imagine that you: have experience with programming in various tools, although this is not a requirement. are academically strong and have a general understanding of and interest in economic data and models. are quality-conscious, detail-oriented, and have a high work capacity.
are able to work independently and in a structured manner. are motivated and eager to develop new skills, for example within programming. In the selection of candidates, emphasis is placed both on your academic profile and on grades achieved during your studies.

Terms of employment The workplace will be at the Department for Business and Business Economics (Institut for Økonomi), Universitetsbyen 51, 8000 Aarhus CStart-up: 26 May 2026 or as soon as possible by agreement.Working hours are an average of 9 hours per week with flexible scheduling in agreement with the immediate manager, for instance during exam periods.Number of months: 24There is the possibility of one to two fixed-term positions with a duration of just over two years.You will be employed as a student programmer.
