Application Specialist – Food Ingredients Foodjob Nordic is now looking on behalf of AKV AmbA for an experienced Application Specialist to join AKV’s Global Sales & Application team in Agro Food Park in Aarhus. The position is responsible for applications related to the Cheese range of AKV’s starch ingredients, including the preparation and maintenance of documentation to support sales activities within the assigned areas of responsibility.
In addition, the role requires in-depth application knowledge, which is used across AKV and in specific customer projects. You will work side-by-side with an experienced team of Application Specialists in the AKV FoodLab. The position reports to the Director, Application & Technical Sales in a very lean and flat organization with a high level of entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities and goals: We are looking for an employee with a strong background in food technology to drive the Cheese category applications in the AKV FoodLab in Aarhus, where you will become part of the team. Here you will play an important role in relation to taking part in the work with a confident and collaborative team approach.
Provide technical expertise and advisory support in customer projects, including the development of new application solutions. Deliver technical training and ongoing support to sales teams, customers, and distributors. Monitor competitor products and market developments relevant to assigned application areas.
Personal and professional skills: Has experience from a food processing plant or in a pilot setup as a specialist or technician, but you may be eligible for the position with relevant practical education in food processing on a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree level.
An interest in food production and preparation, enjoys practical work and customer support, and has a structured approach to work tasks. Has experience with food analysis (an advantage, not a requirement) Is a confident user of the MS Office package.
Has good knowledge of Danish and English, both written and spoken. Work effectively in a team environment with a good sense of community and creating new relationships and solutions. Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude with high levels of energy and drive to achieve targets.

The position will set a high standard of knowledge on the application of starches and interact strongly within technical support and technical sales. It is important, that strong partnerships are formed and maintained within the team. As an Application Specialist in AKV FoodLab, your primary tasks will consist of: Establish and document in-depth application knowledge of starch ingredients, with a strong understanding of the interaction between process, ingredients, and final product properties.
Develop application recipes, demo samples, and technical sales materials that clearly demonstrate customer benefits. Develop, operate, and maintain model systems and application lab capabilities to support testing, characterization, and sales activities within selected applications.Provide technical expertise and advisory support in customer projects, including the development of new application solutions.
