[ref. a25021] Postdoc position for Studying G-protein-coupled Receptor Functions in Liver Tissue Plasticity - Syddansk Universitet

The Ravnskjaer lab is headed by Assoc. Prof. Kim Ravnskjaer and focuses on cellular crosstalk in the regulation of liver function in health and disease. For this we apply single cell- and spatially resolved transcriptomics and bioimaging to study human liver biopsies and advanced, preclinical models.A combination of wet-lab and computational biology, close ties to the clinic, and a wonderful team of early career scientists give us the agility and expertise to swiftly move from hypotheses to biological insights and assess clinical relevance of our findings.
We are part of the Functional Genomics & Metabolism Research Unit, an international, ambitious, and well-resourced working environment. We have access to state-of-the-art facilities for flow cytometry, next generation sequencing, spatial and single-cell transcriptomics, mass spectrometry, metabolomics, bioimaging, and transgenic animal models.Strategic research alliances exist with regional hospitals including Odense University Hospital.
Our lab is involved in several regional, national and international initiatives including the DNRF-funded Center for Functional Genomics and Tissue Plasticity aimed at obtaining systems-level, mechanistic understanding of tissue plasticity in diet-induced obesity and regression.
For our project Unlocking the Deep GPCRome for Accelerated Fibrosis Resolution we are looking for a molecular and cell biologist or related specialist with hands-on experience in tissue handling, histology, microscopy, and spatial transcriptomics.Experience with the computational analysis of NGS- or imaging-based spatial transcriptomics and single-cell transcriptomics data is an advantage.

Qualifications/requirements
We are looking for highly motivated, dedicated, and ambitious candidates with:
- A PhD in Molecular Biology, Biomedicine, Computational Systems Biology or similar. If you have not yet completed your PhD program, you must include a signed letter from your PhD supervisor stating your expected date of completion.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills and an interest in method development and application in a creative, interdisciplinary team
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Documented experience with both advanced, wet-lab tissue analysis and computational analysis of spatially- and single cell-resolved transcriptomics data.
