Are you passionate about using data to solve real-world problems and eager to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, impact-driven environment? The Data Excellence team at the Novo Nordisk Foundation is looking for a motivated intern for a full-time internship during the fall semester 2026.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that support the Foundation’s mission in health, sustainability, and life sciences, while developing your skills in data analysis, engineering, and stakeholder engagement.

The Position

As our new Data Excellence Intern, you will join a dedicated team working on a variety of exploratory data projects and prototypes. This internship is designed to be a learning experience, where you will be supported in developing new skills and deepening your understanding of data-driven work.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of deliverables within at least one project, working closely with the team lead and receiving guidance throughout your internship.

Your specific tasks and responsibilities will be scoped according to your academic background, capabilities, and interests. Whether you are more interested in data analysis, engineering, visualisation, or stakeholder engagement, we will ensure that your involvement is meaningful and relevant.

You do not need to have experience in all areas listed below; these are examples of what you may learn about and contribute to during your time with us.

The Digital & Business Excellence department is a cross-functional team designed to support and accelerate the Foundation’s strategic and digital ambitions. The department consists of 17 dedicated professionals working across four teams: Business Excellence, Digital & AI, Business Solutions, and Data Excellence.

Our culture is characterised by a fun, supportive, and informal atmosphere, coupled with high ambitions and a strong drive to continuously enhance our organisational capabilities.

Main Responsibilities

During your internship, you may be involved in:

  • Assisting with data pipeline development, data cleaning, and integration of new data sources
  • Contributing to the prototyping and testing of new data-driven tools or processes
  • Supporting the optimisation of agents and data solutions, focusing on performance and reliability
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, present findings, and receive feedback

We encourage you to apply even if you do not have experience in all these areas. The internship is a place to grow, and we are committed to helping you develop new skills and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Professional Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant university programme (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or similar)
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Power BI, or similar)
  • Interest in data engineering, prototyping, and stakeholder engagement
  • Interest in or experience with agentic AI, such as working with autonomous agents or AI-driven solutions
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Personal Qualifications

  • Structured and analytical in problem-solving
  • Enjoys working in a supportive, informal team environment
  • Motivated by continuous learning and personal growth
