Hardware Product Lifetime Engineer
About the role & responsibilities You will be working as HW engineer in our product lifetime engineering team of our on-market product portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring product reliability, improving performance, managing cost-reduction initiatives, and addressing technical issues after the initial launch phase Your key responsibilities include: Post-Launch Technical Support: Investigate and resolve product safety, quality, and performance issues experienced in the field or in the production line, using data analytics and root cause analysis.
Continuous Improvement: Implement improvements to existing product designs to increase reliability, efficiency, or reduce costs (e.g., component changes, DFM improvements). Lifecycle Management (PLM): Manage Product Changes (PCR/PCOs) based on Product Change Notifications (PCN’s) or End-of-Life (EOL) notices from component suppliers, validating replacement parts and ensuring compatibility by performing high quality impact analyses.Documentation Control: Maintain, update, and own all technical documentation, including requirement- and design specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM), and Product Change Requests (PCR). Support CAD engineers with schematic and PCB design. Supplier & Quality Coordination: Collaborate with our strategic procurement and quality teams to address supplier-driven changes and maintain quality standards.
Validation Testing: Based on impact analyses and together with a dedicated test team, design and execute verification and validation tests (Performance and Environmental), for continued compliance and product quality. Data Analysis: Use of field data, customer complaint trends and manufacturing test data etc., to identify opportunities for product/design improvements.
Close collaboration: With firmware teams, approvals team, global support engineers, production technicians and other teams What you’ll bring You are an experienced and curious engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a pragmatic and collaborative mindset.
You take ownership of the appointed tasks and seeks the best solutions. Qualifications You have 4+ years of experience as a Hardware Engineer, Technical Lead, System Architect or similar, and are comfortable taking responsibility for complex hardware designs in regulated environments.
You bring solid, hands-on experience within the following areas: Low-power, high-precision, noise-critical and high-linear analog circuit design for sensor signals from e.g. temperature sensors (RTD, TC) using analog-to-digital interface design and algorithms, including sampling theory and error sources EMC and environmental-robust design, with practical experience applying standards such as IEC 61326, IEC 61000, DNV, and NAMUR Design for cost, testability, and manufacturability, balancing performance, robustness, and production constraints Additional qualifications (nice-to-have) Experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered a strong advantage: Low-power AC/DC power supply design ( Intrinsically safe circuit design in compliance with ATEX and IECEx and Functional Safety hardware design (SIL) according to IEC 61508 You thrive in analyzing/understanding and further developing complex electronic design in several different product ranges and enjoy being a technical sparring partner across hardware, firmware, compliance and production technicians.
