Product Realization & CAD Specialist
At Levitate, we make high-performance prosthetic components used by amputees and veterans around the world. Our products are physical, mechanical, and used in demanding real-world conditions.
We are looking for a hands-on mechanical profile to join our team in Denmark and help turn ideas and existing concepts into robust, production-ready products.
This role is for someone who enjoys detailed mechanical work and wants to take technical input from the team and convert it into drawings, CAD, prototypes, documentation, and manufacturable solutions. The focus is not on long conceptual processes, but on execution, detailing, follow-through, and continuous improvement of physical products.
THE ROLE
As part of the technical team, you will be responsible for turning concepts and technical input into detailed, production-ready mechanical solutions.
Your work will typically include:
- Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings
- Turning concepts, sketches, and internal input into detailed mechanical solutions
- Maturing parts and assemblies from prototype stage to production-ready design
- Preparing documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and internal handover
- Supporting DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly)
- Adjusting and refining existing parts based on testing, feedback, and production needs
- Building, modifying, and testing physical prototypes
- Following up on tolerances, fits, fastening methods, and general mechanical robustness
- Maintaining BOMs, drawings, part structures, and revision control
- Updating existing designs and ensuring technical documentation stays accurate
- Supporting maintenance and improvement of current products and subassemblies
- Sourcing components, standard parts, materials, and practical technical solutions
- Communicating with suppliers in Danish and English regarding parts, manufacturing, and technical clarifications
- Working closely with internal stakeholders across technical, production, and external partner functions.
- Implement new machinery, tools, and technical processes within the R&D workshop
This role requires someone who likes working both digitally and physically with products.
You should be comfortable taking an existing idea or rough solution and carrying it forward into something that can actually be produced, assembled, tested, documented, and maintained.
That means you should be confident in:
- Mechanical CAD work
- Technical detailing of parts and assemblies
- Technical drawings and documentation
- Practical prototype work
- Structured file handling and revision management
- Improving and maintaining existing mechanical solutions
- Translating technical input into concrete, workable hardware
RELEVANT BACKGROUND
You may come from a background such as:
- Teknisk tegner / technical designer
- Maskintekniker / mechanical engineering
- Produktionsteknolog / production technologist
- Industritekniker / industrial technician with CAD experience
- or another practical mechanical/technical background with strong CAD and documentation skills
Experience with Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software is very important.
Experience with one or more of the following is highly relevant:
- Mechanical construction and assemblies
- Technical drawings and production documentation
- Manufacturing processes
- Prototype building and workshop work
- BOM structures and revision control
- DFM / DFA
- CAM experience
- Supplier dialogue and sourcing of technical components
PERSONAL PROFILE
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical and execution-oriented

- Comfortable taking ownership of technical tasks
- Able to work independently while coordinating with others
- Curious and solution-oriented
- Comfortable working across different functions
- Good at following tasks through until they are properly completed
- A small and ambitious technical team
- The opportunity to work on products that have real impact on people’s lives
- A hands-on environment focused on real mechanical products
- Close collaboration with engineers, clinicians, production, and users
- A workplace where initiative, responsibility, and practical problem-solving are valued
