As a TPS Specialist, you will play a central role in shaping Denmark’s railway traffic planning. You will act as a technical reference for Banedanmark’s Traffic Planning System (TPS) and contribute to its design, integration, testing, and configuration.
This system, procured from an external supplier, supports Banedanmark's core business and constitute critical national IT infrastructure, which places high demands on accuracy, stability, security, monitoring and maintenance. About the role We are looking for a TPS Specialist to join our team responsible for the delivery of railway traffic planning and management systems.
The role focuses on the deep technical and functional understanding of a traffic planning system procured from an external supplier, including its configuration, integrations, and behaviour across different environments. In this role, you will act as the internal reference for the system, supporting design decisions, test activities, and troubleshooting.
You will be responsible for maintaining the product’s functional and configuration knowledge, working together with the system’s supplier and supporting the Design Authority with impact analysis and feasibility assessment for new functionalities.

Qualifications You have a relevant academic degree on bachelor or master level. You have experience working with the delivery of COTS systems with heavy customization, preferably in rail, transport, or infrastructure domains. You have an in-depth understanding of system integrations and interfaces (e.g. message-based communication), configuration-driven software behaviour, and data models and functional dependencies.
You have previously worked with software installation and configuration, or supported system tests and investigations. More importantly, you have a structured and methodical approach, able to maintain a holistic view of a complex system, and you are curious and able to dig into” system behaviour to understand why the system behaves as it does.
Finally, you communicate effectively in English – both written and spoken. Salary and employment You will be employed according to the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC. Salary is determined based on your experience and qualifications, and pension is included as part of the total salary package.

Your primary workplace will be Banedanmark's head office in central Copenhagen. Work tasks As a TPS Specialist, you will act as Technical Application Owner for TPS, which entails: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of the traffic planning system in test, staging, and production environments Configuration of system functionalities to support operational and planning use cases Understanding and managing interfaces and integrations with surrounding systems (message flows, triggers, and consequential actions) Assessing the impact of changes in configuration, interfaces, or functionality across the full system You will therefore need to maintain a deep understanding of the TPS functionalities and their dependencies, as well as data model and key data flows.
In this role, you will act as technical reference during system design and specification activities, integration and acceptance test sessions, and incident investigation and troubleshooting.
