Student assistant for air pollution measurements – Markopolo EU Project (Fall 2025) The Danish Cancer Institute, which is part of the Danish Cancer Society, is looking for a student assistant to support an air quality measuring campaign in Sjælland during October/November 2025.
The project involves measurements in a car along pre-defined routes across Sjælland. These measurements will ultimately be used to develop high-resolution air quality models for Sjælland to study the health effects of air pollution. About the job: You will be driving pre-specified routes in an electric car that is equipped with instruments that measure air pollution.
Approx. 8 hours of driving per day including breaks (some shifts may be evenings/weekends; no work during autumn school break). Starting and ending in Copenhagen; overnight parking and charging facilities provided. You will work alongside a project team at the Danish Cancer Institute.
We offer: Flexible scheduling around your studies. Insight into environmental field campaigns and air pollution modelling. A collaborative project environment. We are looking for someone who: Has a valid EU driver’s licence and feels comfortable with long-distance driving.
Is reliable and detail-oriented (routes need to be followed carefully). Has a technical interest and is curious to learn about air quality monitoring. Can work independently and is flexible to work full days, approximately 1-2 days per week, possibly including occasional weekends or evenings.
Duration: October/November 2025. We will also conduct a second measurement campaign in spring 2026, and we hope you will be interested in contributing to that as well. You will be based in Copenhagen, with full-day driving routes across Sjælland.
Salary will be in accordance with the current agreement between the Danish Cancer Society and the relevant trade union.
