Finance Director

We are recruiting for a Director in Finance to be based in Denmark. In this role you are the financial partner to the regional vice president and the entire leadership team operating within our Europe 4 region covering Denmark, Norway and Poland.
This role reports directly to the VP of Finance in Netherlands.
Role overview:
The position will be a primary liaison between the European regional finance and the operations teams to ensure policies, procedures and initiatives are successfully developed, executed and / or implemented within the desired timeframes. The Director of Finance is responsible for assisting operations in all financial matters within its region while maintaining clear communications with European Departments regarding the financial and operational performance.
- Act as strategic business partner to the regional leadership team, contribute to the pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regards to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both the shortterm and long-term growth plans of the organization.
- Continuous Process Improvement and Development: Identify areas where changes can be made or processes implemented that will increase efficiencies of the FP&A department and / or provide better information that can be used to improve performance within the company.
- Prepare and present Standard and Ad Hoc budgeting or forecasting reports that support the various corporate and management requirements that address company initiatives or are necessary to support the business, i.e.
- Annual/ Quarterly/ Monthly / Weekly regional and site financial reporting.
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance procedures financial procedures.
Who we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and trusted partner to the business, Global Leadership Team and Regional Leadership Teams. Driving functional excellence in all key finance activities.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- A bachelor's degree or master’s in finance is preferred but not a must
- Extensive experience in a similar, senior level finance role leading a geographically dispersed region
- Previous experience to develop in close cooperation with the business factual insights on how to improve the performance of the business, convert this in tangible actions and help drive these changes to deliver targeted improvement
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding current & new accounting regulations as well as how they will impact the business - this necessitates a strong understanding of both regional and US GAAP accounting principles
- Impressive credentials in leading multi-site finance functions as well as standardised compliance and management frameworks delivering audit, external taxation reporting across multiple geographies
- Demonstrable expertise in strategy development, program implementation, team building, mentoring, planning and on-boarding of new businesses
