We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Product Design Manager to lead our dynamic team in crafting the next generation of iconic pieces.
Your Role As Product Design Manager, you will lead, manage and safeguard the design process from ideation to launch, ensuring a successful, commercial and high- quality delivery of &Tradition’s furniture, lighting and objects collections.
This role is responsible for expanding and evolving both contemporary and classic collections, delivering on customer promise while supporting sustainable and profitable growth for the company.
You are a key contributor to continually evolving the Collection Strategy and Product Pipeline and act as a central link between external designers, the Product Team and other internal stakeholders.You ensure a seamless integration of design intent into the Product Creation Process, and that design supports strong brand storytelling and campaign execution.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Inspire: Motivate, develop and manage a talented in-house design team, fostering a collaborative, ambitious and innovative culture.
- Strategic Vision: Define and execute the product design strategy in alignment with &Tradition’s brand values and business objectives.
Develop and evolve &Tradition’s CMF and Upholstery strategy.
- Designer Partnerships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with &Tradition’s global network of external designers, as well as families and foundations.
- Project Delivery: Lead the design process from inital ideation to detailed design concept.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key link between external designers, the Product Team and other departments across the company.
- Brand & Campaign Alignment: Ensure that product design interacts with and supports strong campaign development and cohesive brand communication, contributing to impactful product launches and storytelling.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient design workflows and best practices that support creativity, improve collaboration and ensure consistently high-quality outcomes.
- Budget Management: Manage budgets related to design development, ensuring financial objectives are met while maintaining design ambition and integrity.
- Impact Focus: Ensure delivery on &Tradition’s Product Impact Goals by integrating circular design principles, low-impact materials and responsible production processes into all product designs.
- Market and Material Insight: Continuously research market developments, new materials, finishes and production methods, ensuring &Tradition remains innovative and relevant.
- Travel: Travel regularly to visit designers and suppliers, attend industry events and participate in on-site sample reviews, approximately 6-10 times per year, to support efficient processes and strong collaboration.
Your Profile We are looking for a leader who embodies our core values of curiosity, continual development, and a commitment to positive impact.
You should possess: 8+ years of design experience within the home furnishings industry 3+ years experience in building, developing, and leading a creative team Fluency in translating ideas/sketches into commercial products A deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes Extensive knowledge of consumer behaviour and current market insights Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Motivational leadership, with excellent communication and strong networking skills A passion for making positive impact and a proactive approach to integrating circular practices into product development.
Educational background in product/industrial design Proficiency in software such as Rhino, Keyshot and/or Solidworks A track record of managing budgets and delivering projects on time and within scope.Fluent in English and able to travel internationally Why Join Us?
