In Gubra, you can look forward to seeing your efforts turn into tangible projects, partnerships, and results within a fantastic environment where everyone wants to help and drive things forward.
About the Department The Molecular Pharmacology department at Gubra develops a range of in vitro assays- cellular, non-cellular, enzymatic, binding, and more
- to support our highly automated drug screening platform for developing novel peptide drug candidates.
We are committed to delivering high-quality data and continuously implementing new in vitro technologies to advance our projects.
About the Role Your focus will be on designing, innovating, and coordinating activities that drive our drug discovery projects forward using our Machine Learning (ML)-guided drug discovery platform, streaMLine. You will utilize your skills as part of dedicated multidisciplinary project teams alongside specialist colleagues in computational drug discovery, peptide chemistry, preformulation, bioanalysis, and in vivo pharmacology.
Additionally, you will have close collaboration with your skilled laboratory technician colleagues.
Your primary tasks include, but are not limited to: Design, execute, and optimize High-throughput in vitro cellular and non-cellular assays for peptide-based drug discovery.
Coordinate studies and analyze peptide libraries to support drug discovery projects.
Actively participate in the identification and evaluation of novel biological targets, with a focus on peptide-based drug discovery opportunities.
Initiate and lead innovative projects aligned with Gubra’s strategic goals.
Collaborate with scientists across various teams to bring new ideas to life.
Communicate results and new findings, and contribute to cross-functional projects by providing biological insights.

Additionally, your resume comprises: A background at PhD level within life science (e.g., Molecular/Cell biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical science).
Background or interest in metabolic, fibrotic, inflammatory diseases, or women’s health is an advantage.+3 years of experience with early Drug Discovery in an industrial setting.
Expertise in designing and establishing high-throughput cellular and non-cellular in vitro assays (e.g., binding, signaling, functional, mode-of-action).
Familiarity with automatization and liquid handlers is an advantage.
Motivation to integrate AI/ML into workflows (prior experience is an advantage but not required).
Innovative, collaborative, and proactive mindset, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic organization.
A passion for innovation and the ability to navigate the risks associated with pioneering new ideas.

We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently- to reach the results we aim for.
Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world.
We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.Gubra’s activities are focused on the early stages of drug development and are organised in two highly synergistic business areas: CRO Services and Discovery & Partnerships (D&P).
We generate our revenue by performing research for life science companies as well as by partnering projects from our discovery and development pipeline.
Our therapeutic focus is within metabolic and fibrotic diseases, and we specialize in in vivo pharmacology, ex vivo assays, drug profiling, histology, stereology and whole brain and organ imaging.
In addition, we offer a full palette of advanced transcriptomics.
Our ML/AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform streaMLine enables us to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a non-clinical candidate ready for development.
Through a constant focus on high quality, scientific excellence, speed, and solid teamwork we have established ourselves as a highly professional and competent partner in the market.
People are our greatest asset, and our team consists of +290 employees.
The mix of people from different cultures and educational backgrounds combined with our entrepreneurial mindset have greatly impacted our working environment, which is characterized by entrepreneurial drive, scientific curiosity, and teamwork – we join forces!
