April 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term position for 12 months. About the research projectThe wider SERIAL project aims to understand multiple chronic conditions, including diabetes and its complications at the population level based on data from Danish registers and cohort studies as well as the UK Biobank.The current position focuses on tasks related to the DP-Next project (Work Package 2 and Work Package 3) particularly the analysis of data from the ADDITION-PRO cohort of people at intermediate and high risk of diabetes in relation to the incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular events, assessed through the Danish registers.

You will contribute to the development of the research group through research of high international quality. In your daily work you will work closely with colleagues on your project where you will receive supervision and guidance. Your main tasks will beresearch of high international quality, including publicationdesigning, preparing and executing epidemiological research projects, including data handling, preparation and statistical analyseswriting manuscripts that report the findings, including coordination with co-authorspresentation of research results at institutional, national and international research meetingsactive participation in activities in the research group, such as group meetings and code review sessions.Your competencesYou have academic qualifications at the PhD level in the area of Human Medicine, Epidemiology, Statistics or Health Sciences, preferably with a focus on chronic diseases (particularly diabetes) multimorbidity, or their major determinantsExperience in planning, setting up and conducting epidemiological research.Experience in conducting register-based analyses or analyses based on large cohort studies is a strong assetExperience in independently planning and executing statistical data analysis plans in the R statistical programming languageStrong organizational skills, an analytically creative mindset and an interest in diabetes epidemiologyAs a person you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.
