Data Engineer for AFI Analytics
You will sit close to business stakeholders across functions and sites to understand priorities and translate them into reliable analytics solutions. As a Data Engineer you will build rock‑solid data pipelines from source‑of‑truth systems into scalable analytics products in Azure, integrated with the AFI Data & Analytics team and partnering with central platform teams to ensure solutions are production‑ready and deliver measurable impact across the AFI value chain, says Peter Novak, Senior Manager, Data & Analytics in AFI How you will make an impact As a Data Engineer, in AFI Analytics, you will play a key role in defining, building and supporting cloud-based analytics and BI solutions.
Formally, you will report to the Head of IT Product, Finance & AFI, Mia Debois Kirk, while working closely with Peter Novak and the wider AFI business. You will work closely with internal customers, architects and developers to ensure high-quality data pipelines and reliable analytics products.Your key responsibilities include Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define analytics and BI requirements. Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure PaaS tools, SQL and Python on a Spark-based analytics platform. Design, develop and support scalable cloud-based analytics solutions.
Perform data exploration and modeling to support data-driven decision-making. Provide technical input and feedback to solution architects and development teams . What will make you successful We are looking for two proactive Data Engineers who are passionate about data and analytics and enjoy collaborating across teams.
You communicate clearly and take ownership of your work in a dynamic environment. We imagine that the ideal candidate brings Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure (e.g. Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks/Spark, Function Apps, CI/CD, Terraform, Unity Catalog, Fabric).
Solid experience with ETL processes and data transformations. Proficiency in Python and PySpark, combined with strong SQL skills. Ability to work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Clear and confident communication skills in English.
