August 2029. The position is open for Master of Science candidates holding a PhD and with more than two years of postdoctoral experience. About the research group: Cardio-Metabolic epidemiology performs research in cardiometabolic disease and health, a group of common and interconnected conditions such as overweight, type 2 diabetes, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, heart failure, and stenotic liver disease.
We aim to investigate and develop effective pharmacological as well as lifestyle interventions to prevent the development and progression of cardiometa-bolic diseases and improve health. Furthermore, we also strive to advance the understanding of the underlying mechanisms that contribute to disease development.
Our epidemiological studies range in scale from several hundred participants to the entire Danish population, drawing on extensive datasets such as Danish nationwide registries and other large-scale “big data” resources. About the specific project: The main project the candidate will be involved in is “Informed Menopause Treatment - Mapping the Risks of Contemporary Hormone Therapy”, supported by the Novo Nordisk Foun-dation.
The project aims to describe treatment patterns of hormone therapy in menopause and to estimate car-diovascular risk, with a particular focus on treatment heterogeneity. The candidate: We are seeking a highly motivated and well-qualified researcher with an MSc and PhD in pub-lic health and epidemiology.
The ideal candidate has documented experience in both health and disease epi-demiology. Extensive knowledge and hands-on expertise in all aspects of register-based research are essential, including: data collection choice of appropriate study designs extraction and linkage of data from relevant registers advanced statistical analysis Experience with causal inference methods using R is a requirement.
Proven research experience with hormone therapy in menopause will be considered an advantage. Responsibilities The position includes: contributing to the menopause treatment project preparing grant applications, organizing scientific meetings, and providing day-to-day supervision of the group’s researchers.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must demonstrate: a strong track record in register-based research (minimum 20 international peer-reviewed publications), experience in supervising PhD students, excellent collaboration skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to respond quickly and constructively in team settings.
Terms: The Researcher will be offered a full-time position. Employment will be in accordance with the relevant collective agreement within the Capital Region of Denmark.
