Unit The REACH unit consists of 10 colleagues and is IMS' Fundraising, Branding & Communication and MEL institutional support unit.
The Unit supports the Executive Management Group in executing the IMS Global Strategy, with a particular focus on fundraising, strategic branding and communication, and strengthening relations with key donors.
Key objectives include performance related to IMS's overall fundraising targets, including relational management with strategic partners and enhancing IMS's brand visibility and external positioning.

Job summary The Head of the REACH Unit ensures progress in IMS's global fundraising efforts, strengthens our strategic brand and communications, and cultivates strong relationships with key institutional donors, including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the EU.

Working full‑time (37 hours/week), the Head of REACH applies their own expertise within the REACH task portfolio, acts as a “playing coach”, and leads an experienced team through clear KPIs.
The role collaborates closely with leaders across IMS' three other institutional support units to ensure coherence and impact across the organisation.

Key responsibilities Leading a team of 10 skilled professionals including setting direction, supporting professional development and performance through clear priorities, budget follow‑up, well‑defined KPIs, and a focus on quality and impact.

Managing the unit's responsibility for IMS fundraising pipeline and CRM system, providing timely progress updates to the Executive Management Group, and supporting regional departments in identifying opportunities and guiding application processes.

Managing the unit's responsibility for leading the IMS Brand Identity process and the associated institutional communication tasks, including progress reporting and follow-up on internal and external branding efforts.
Managing the unit's responsibility for overseeing the Key Account Structure for core donors Danida, SIDA, Norad, and the EU in close collaboration with regional departments and the FLOW unit.
Managing the unit's responsibility for ensuring that Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) is closely integrated into the unit's areas of responsibility.
Collaborating closely with executive management and other unit heads to avoid sub-optimization and ensure coordinated efforts across units.
What are we looking for?

Qualifications Approximately 7 years of relevant professional experience across one or more of the areas listed below Proven experience in fundraising, including managing pipelines and securing contributions from institutional donors and experience working with CRM systems and managing structured fundraising data.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high‑level donor relationships.
Understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and its integration into programme or organisational processes.
Strong understanding of strategic branding and communication, with experience leading organisational brand initiatives and its connection to fundraising targets.
Solid experience in stakeholder engagement across complex organisations.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and using KPIs to drive performance.
Ability to collaborate effectively across units to ensure strategic alignment and coherence.
Excellent organisational skills, including budget follow‑up and administrative oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans.
Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.

Duration and location Place of employment: IMS Headquarter, Copenhagen, Denmark Employment type: Full-time, open-ended contract The REACH unit is one of four Institutional Support Units alongside FLOW, responsible for finance, accounting and IT, GROW, responsible for IMS delivery capabilities, employee cycle and salary management and ENGAGE responsible for product development and our global engagement.

The head of REACH works closely with the other unit heads and reports to Executive Director.
