Ascendis Pharma is seeking a President of Europe and International Markets to provide the leadership, strategic vision, and expertise needed to continue to execute on the Europe and International (excluding US) launches and commercialization of TransCon hGH (SKYTROFA), TransCon PTH (YORVIPATH), and likely future rare endocrine disease products.

Today, we are advancing programs in Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology. We also collaborate with partners globally on the development of TransCon-based products for other therapeutic areas.

We are seeking a passionate new member of our Executive Management Team, reporting to our company President and CEO, Jan Møller Mikkelsen. You will lead the development and execution of a commercialization strategy for Ascendis Pharma’s rare disease endocrinology products in Europe and International Markets (excluding US) and drive success in pricing and access, marketing, sales, field medical affairs, including exceptional collaboration with Medical Affairs and other relevant functions.

As the President of Europe and International Markets, you will be accountable for making expense tradeoffs at both a country and enterprise level, ensuring a healthy P&L for Europe & International (Excl. US) and Ascendis overall. You will build our commercial infrastructure and organization to drive market adoption of Ascendis’ rare disease endocrinology pipeline and be responsible for revenue growth, including strategic and in-line marketing, market access, sales leadership, analytics, forecasting, and new product planning.

You are a dynamic, decisive executive with effective leadership and management skills who can motivate others to achieve desired results through clear direction, collaboration, communication, coaching, cultural sensitivity, and ability to deliver on a shared vision.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the commercialization strategy for Europe and International Markets (Excl. US)
  • Ensure successful market adoption and revenue growth
  • Oversee pricing and access, marketing, sales, and field medical affairs
  • Manage operating expenses to maintain a healthy P&L
  • Build and lead the commercial infrastructure and organization
  • Develop key external relationships including with KOLs, investors, potential and existing partners
  • Work with the Executive Team to identify business collaborations, acquisitions and other activities that would serve patients by bringing other products to the market
Qualifications and skills
  • Proven leadership in a senior commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Science-based and analytical approach
  • Experience with rare disease products and international markets
  • Strong strategic vision and execution capabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate teams across cultures and in a fast-paced matrix organization

You hold a relevant academic degree and strong scientific or medical understanding. You have 15+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, within rare diseases, endocrinology, in Europe and International markets.

Travel: Willingness to travel globally is essential.
