We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering team in Finished Goods Production and set the pace for technical excellence across our packaging lines. Your new role As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineers who own the technical direction, reliability, and lifecycle management of our packaging assets.
You’ll combine strong technical insight with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to drive improvements in safety, quality, and performance. You will act as a trusted sparring partner to the Technical Manager and the Production Manager, seeing the bigger picture and connecting day-to-day priorities with long-term strategy.
Together, you’ll ensure stable operations, successful qualifications and validations, and a robust change management process — all in full compliance with GxP and GMP. Your Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Engineering team.
Own the equipment lifecycle for packaging assets: strategy, upgrades, obsolescence, and risk management. Drive qualification & validation (URS, DQ, IQ/OQ/PQ), change control, and documentation in line with internal and external requirements. Lead engineering for packaging technologies (e.g., blister/bottle, carton, labeling, serialization/aggregation, case packing, palletizing).
Set direction for performance and reliability improvements using data, OEE, root cause analysis, and LEAN methods. Strengthen engineering standards, technical documentation and structured problem-solving. Champion digitalization and robust maintenance foundations with the Technical Manager and Production Manager.
Ensure safe design and operation, addressing machine safety, ergonomics, and compliance by design. Build strong cross-functional collaboration with Technical and Production teams to secure uptime, quality, and cost efficiency. Your future team The Engineering team in Finished Goods Production consists of 10 employees and 3 student workers.
The team includes 2 Serialization Specialists, 5 Senior Engineers, 1 Senior PPM Engineer, 1 Engineer, and 1 Senior Maintenance Planner, supported by 3 Student Workers. Together, they bring strong expertise across packaging technology, automation, qualification and validation and maintenance planning — ensuring the reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of Lundbeck’s packaging lines.

What you bring to the team We expect you to bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a structured, analytical mindset: MSc/BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Automation Engineering, or similar technical background Solid experience from packaging environments and regulated GxP/GMP production Proven success with qualification and validation and change management Experience leading engineering teams or complex technical projects in a cross-functional setup Strong understanding of packaging line technology, automation, and performance optimization Skilled in using data, structured problem-solving, and LEAN tools Ability to see the big picture, connect technical and operational priorities, and act as a sparring partner to peers Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Fluent in Danish and English The position is based in Valby, Denmark.
