We have an exciting opportunity for a Nordic Medical Affairs Manager – Paediatric Oncology/Rare Diseases to join Norgine.

The person holding this position will report to the Medical Director and be a member of the Nordic Medical Affairs team.

The core responsibility of the of Nordic Medical Affairs Manager – Paediatric Oncology/Rare Diseases is to be accountable for all medical aspects within the RCU cross-functional team relating to the transition of key Norgine paediatric oncology/rare disease assets into the post authorisation space.

This will be a permanent role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Be the RCU medical lead for Paediatric Oncology/Rare Disease products inputting into and delivering on the strategy for the brands – with particular focus on launch activities.
  • Be the RCU medical lead in the cross-functional launch team relating to Paediatric Oncology/Rare Disease products
  • Develop and manage relationships with Key opinion leaders, patient organisations and professional groups relating to Paediatric Oncology/Rare Disease products
  • Review and sign-off of promotional and non-promotional material to ensure compliance with the Codes of Practice
  • Deputise Medical Director as needed
  • Provide input to Norgine Global projects as agreed from time to time on a defined basis.
  • Work to ensure compliance in all Norgine procedures including GxP, Codes of Practice and medicines legislation.
  • Maintain high standards of technical proficiency
  • Understand concepts of pharmacovigilance (PV)
  • Responsible for medical training of Norgine staff relating to Paediatric Oncology/Rare Disease

MAIN TASKS:

Medical expert for Paediatric Oncology/Rare Disease assets
  • Leverage clinical/scientific data to optimise the delivery of Norgine RCU integrated Paediatric Oncology/Rare Disease brand plans.
  • Act as the primary “data expert” for the therapy area
  • Understand current and future positioning aims for the brand and identify scientific activities that support the achievement of those aims.
  • Identify and communicate new published data as appropriate
  • Monitor key information sources of changes within the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory bodies and healthcare providers which may impact on Norgine products and communicate of relevance to the crossfunctional team
  • Proactively identify needs for promotional/ non-promotional material and discuss with marketing colleagues
  • Offer KOL insights to support medical and scientific strategy and communications
  • Through expert knowledge of the scientific data and using clinical experience and knowledge, form part of the core team for the development of clinical arguments for HTA submissions
Code of Practice
  • Review of promotional/ non-promotional material to ensure compliance with the applicable RCU countries Codes of Practices.
  • Sign off promotional and other material in line with the Company certification procedure.
  • Support the RCU Medical Director with compilation of effective complaints against competitor promotional campaigns and defence of complaints against Norgine Brands claims as appropriate
External stakeholder relationships
  • Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with key external customers including external experts/professional groups in relevant therapeutic area, in order to gain insights to support sound decision making and brand strategy development.
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative work, such as research, guideline development, meeting presentations etc.
  • Make scientific and clinical presentations to relevant customers either on request or proactively as part of a broader medical education strategy
  • Provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information relating to licensed and unlicensed products and indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs
  • Develop relationships with patient advocacy groups and third party organisations to facilitate gaining insights, the exchange of scientific and clinical information around Norgine products and raise awareness of relevant disease areas .
Medical Affairs activities
  • Support the development of medical affairs projects & publications plans in collaboration with Global Medical Lead.
  • Support the internal project management of ISTs, providing study progress follow-up and support as required
  • Develop and maintain guidelines and procedures e.g. internal SOPs as directed by the Medical Director
  • Provide medical input and strategic input into advisory boards, engaging with clinical advisors on a peer to peer level
Medical lead for field based teams related to Paediatric/Rare Disease products
  • Through leadership and direction, motivate the Paediatric/Rare Disease MSLs by a process of recognition and support to maximise the team performance
  • Provide high quality and timely briefing materials/training to sales-force, MSLs, Medical Advisors or Market access, on relevant appropriate data.
  • Research, construct and write scientific materials to support the sales force
  • Support the Sales force & market access teams with scientific data required for formulary submissions as required.
Requirements
  • Experienced Physician (preferred), Pharmacist or Biologist
  • Pharmaceutical industry Medical Affairs experience essential, predominantly affiliate based– with experience in country launch activities
  • Experience in Oncology and/or Rare disease therapeutic area is highly desirable.
  • Customer-facing experience and experience with managing external expert stakeholder relationships
  • Speak and write English (fluent) and at least one Scandinavian language.
  • Keeps up to date with the new data and changing healthcare environment.
  • Willing to travel regularly
