Right now we are looking for volunteer networkers in several cities- and you have the opportunity to become part of something bigger and make a concrete difference for others.
Contact organisation As a network person, you help create security, community and support in everyday life.
The role is about socializing, where there is room for informal conversations about big and small things as well as joint trips in the local area.Some want support to understand and communicate with authorities or help with common challenges that may arise in daily life.
In addition, the role may involve linguistic support, where you contribute to training the Danish language through conversations and possibly support Danish education.
The network person role is adapted to the individual and can be carried out in several cities, but the common goal is to strengthen relationships and provide support for a better everyday life.
How to get started You agree together what you want to meet about, and when and how often it suits you both.
You also decide where you meet.
Typically, you meet for a couple of hours every other week.
We help you get started and offer ongoing sparring along the way.
What does the role entail?
The role of networker is flexible.
The most important thing is that you: Have the time and desire to get to know another person and enter into an equal and supportive relationship.
Is spacious and welcoming.Is patient, stable and can meet approximately once every two weeks.
Good relationships take time to build – that's why we hope you want to commit for at least six months, preferably longer.
What do you get as a volunteer?
The opportunity to get to know another person and make a real difference in their life.
Access to relevant, free courses at DRC Danish Refugee Council.
Ongoing guidance from an employee at DRC Danish Refugee Council.
You will become a volunteer in the project Life Goes On, where you as a network person support another person with a refugee background who is, or has been, involved in trauma treatment.
You will become the part of life that is not about treatment, but on the contrary, everyday life and good experiences that the two of you find together.
