Apply Here We usually respond within two weeks About the position: As a Project Financial Controller, you will oversee the 360-degree financial controlling of various solar and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) projects under construction.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, managing budgets, and working cross-functionally to align on invoicing, tax calculations, and expenses. Your role will be key in supporting the team’s financial health and ensuring that projects are financially on track.
Success in this role means consistently delivering accurate financial reports, streamlining processes, and fostering effective collaboration across departments. You will be part of a small yet dynamic team of two that collaborates closely to achieve shared goals, with a strong focus on teamwork and mutual support.
You will report directly to the Project Financial Controller Manager. In this position, you will work closely with several teams across the organization to ensure smooth financial operations and alignment on project expenses and financial reporting.
This role is based at our head office in Hellerup, Denmark. Your key responsibilities: Prepare monthly financial reports, including reconciled profit/loss and balance sheets. Develop yearly budgets and quarterly updated forecasts, ensuring they align with project timelines and financial requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on invoicing, project costs, and financial reporting. Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including VAT, tax filings, and annual reports. Provide monthly input for share price calculations, assessing project costs and identifying paid and outstanding amounts.
Approve invoices, ensuring timely payment and working closely with controllers to verify expenses and updates. Support in handling the engineering, procurement, and construction aspects of solar parks and battery projects. About you: Relevant economic background, for example, HD2/HD(R), financial controller, Cand.merc.aud, or similar. 3-5 years of experience in financial controlling or auditing.
Strong understanding of financial statements, debit & credit, and share capital. Strong knowledge of financial controlling, project budgeting, and financial reporting. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, tax filings, and financial reporting (e.g., VAT, annual reports). Adaptable to dynamic environments, meeting changing priorities and deadlines.
Confidently shares ideas and contributes to discussions. It's a plus if you are: Experienced in bookkeeping or auditing, particularly within project-based financials in the renewable energy or construction industry. Familiar with Business Central or similar financial management systems.
