Starting Date and Period The position is for two years and is available from 1 January 2026 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Job description You are expected to contribute to: (1) The design and build-up of a deep-UV supercontinuum source for ultrafast pump-probe transmission / reflection spectroscopy.
(2) Investigate the dynamics of electrons and holes in selected wide-bandgap materials, based on the ultrafast spectroscopy and comparison to theoretical expectations.
Your work will be carried out together with a team of researchers.

Your profile Applicants should hold a PhD in physics, but other fields within the natural sciences may be considered for applicants with a strong profile on the points listed below.Experience with experiments based on femtosecond lasers is essential.

It will be advantageous with experience on pump-probe spectroscopy and/or supercontinuum generation.
Experience with density-functional theory is also of relevance.The applicant must be independent, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team.
Who we are The “Materials and Light Group” at the Department of Physics and Astronomy consists of three senior researchers and several students at the BSc., MSc., and PhD levels.
We are interested in both the fundamental understanding of physics related to light-matter interactions as well as applications of materials/optics within, e.g., medical sciences or electro-optics.

Application procedure Shortlisting is used.
