The Digital & Business Excellence department is a cross-functional team designed to support and accelerate the Foundation’s strategic and digital ambitions. We are 17 dedicated professionals working across four teams: Business Excellence, Digital & AI, Business Solutions, and Data Excellence.Our mission is to help the organisation become more future-ready, efficient, and insight-driven by aligning business, technology, and data in a cohesive and practical way.

The Position
This is a unique opportunity to join the newly formed Data Excellence team at the Novo Nordisk Foundation as a Senior Data Analyst. You will work closely with a Data Engineer and an Analytical Engineer to strengthen our data capabilities and ensure impactful use of data across the organisation.As we modernise our new data platform, you will have the opportunity to influence our data architecture, modelling standards, and best practices.
In this central role, you will collaborate with colleagues across data, digital, and business functions, shaping and applying modern data practices to support analytical projects and strategic decision-making. You will lead analytical projects, translating business needs into user-friendly data products and helping the organisation make more data-informed decisions.Your expertise will ensure our dimensional models are structured to meet diverse analytical needs and are accessible to a wide range of users.
You will be involved in the full data value chain—from data modelling and transformation in dbt, to building engaging Power BI dashboards and exploring new ways to present data, such as interactive dashboards and apps in Databricks or other platforms.Your work will focus on data quality, accessibility, and practical applications, delivering high-quality data products that align with our strategic priorities.
Main responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders to understand needs and define impactful analytical solutions.
- Design and build well-structured dashboards and data products using modern BI tools such as Power BI and Databricks.
- Take end-to-end ownership of BI projects, from scoping to delivery and ongoing maintenance.
- Contribute to the development of dimensional data models in dbt, ensuring data is structured for usability, accessibility, and diverse analytical needs.
- Collaborate with data and analytics engineers to source, prepare, and model data, and explore new ways of presenting data (e.g., interactive dashboards and apps).
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights through effective data storytelling.
- Ensure clarity, usability, and trust in all data products, while staying up to date with new tools and methods.
Your work is expected to be carried out within normal working hours and from the Headquarter of the Novo Nordisk Foundation in Tuborg Havn to the extent possible.
About you
Professional qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have:
- At least 4 years of experience with delivering end-to-end analytics or BI projects with clear business impact
- Demonstrated ability to tell stories with data, making insights accessible and actionable for stakeholders
- The ability to translate business needs into effective, user-friendly data solutions
- Strong skills in working with dashboard and data visualisation tools. We primarily use Power BI and Azure Databricks
- Advanced technical skills and experience with tools such as DAX, SQL, or Python, as well as experience with dimensional data modelling (ideally using dbt).
- A practical understanding of modern data environments and concepts (e.g., Azure, Databricks), with an openness to learn more
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
