Student Assistant – Medicinal Chemistry

Are you passionate about drug discovery and eager to gain hands-on experience in medicinal chemistry? Join our team at NMD Pharma, where we develop first-in-class therapies for people living with debilitating neuromuscular diseases. As a Student Assistant in our Medicinal Chemistry team, you'll work in an innovative environment designing and testing compounds that could have a significant impact on improving patients' lives.

What you’ll be doing

You'll work closely with experienced scientists on a variety of tasks that are both scientific and operational, including:

• Supporting the team in resolving synthetic chemistry challenges, including literature searches and idea generation.
• Uploading and organizing compound and structure data in our internal databases.
• Curating structural relationships (SAR studies) and querying compound libraries.
• Ad hoc tasks across the team, ranging from data entry checks to the preparation of internal materials.
• Over time, you may be involved in basic DMPK-related assignments.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking a student who is in the final year of a bachelor’s program or at the beginning of a master’s program in one of the following fields:

• Medicinal Chemistry
• Chemistry
• Chemical Engineering

You thrive in a lab-adjacent environment and:

• Bring a strong curiosity and willingness to “keep going until the solution is found”
• Thrive in a collaborative culture, working independently and structured, with the guidance and support from the team.
• Have a high level of proficiency in English (oral and written)
• Bring solid skills in Excel and general IT tools

Working hours

We offer flexible working hours, typically between 5 and 15 hours per week. Once you are introduced to the systems and workflows, tasks can be completed during the day, evenings, or weekends, giving you autonomy over your schedule while ensuring alignment with the team.
