CEBRA is seeking an Accounting Manager for an international architecture firm
Do you have solid experience with accounting in an international context? Are you motivated by ensuring accurate month-end close and statutory financial statements? CEBRA is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to manage the financial reporting for the Canadian group company Lemay.
In recent years, CEBRA has grown significantly, driven by more Danish and international projects and a merger with the Canadian architecture firm Lemay. This has increased the need for robust accounting processes and accurate reporting across jurisdictions. Therefore, we are now seeking a competent colleague for a newly established position in our administration team. You will have clear responsibilities that influence how we approach accounting operations and reporting in an international context, with opportunities to improve processes while maintaining compliance and accuracy.
About the role
As Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in our collaboration with Lemay. You will manage the monthly closing process and prepare financial statements in accordance with Danish and Canadian accounting standards. In addition, you will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including bookkeeping and accounts payable.
You will join a small administration team where each person has defined responsibilities. This role offers significant autonomy and trust, as well as the opportunity to engage in professional sparring and coordination. The team also includes a student assistant who can support with bookkeeping and related tasks.
A creative workplace
You will be based at our head office in Aarhus C in a creative work environment. We work in a creative workplace where early sketches are spread across the desks, and award-winning projects line the walls, all within an open, international setting and a friendly, informal culture across the studio and leadership.
CEBRA is run by the same partners who founded the studio in 2001. You will be part of a workplace defined by a flat structure, creativity and strong artistic and international ambitions – as well as high professionalism across design, business and administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monthly reporting to Lemay, including trial balance, work-in-progress status for active projects, full P&L results, and weekly and monthly cash flow
- Preparing and maintaining financial forecasts, and performing monthly P&L variance analysis against budget and latest forecast
- Implementing accounting principles in compliance with Danish GAAP and ensuring alignment with Canadian ASPE standards
- Managing the month-end closing process
- Handling monthly VAT reporting
- Overseeing general ledger and accounts payable
- Preparing year-end closing schedules and supporting documentation for auditors
- Supporting process improvements and maintaining documentation as needed
We imagine that you have:
- At least five years of experience in accounting (preferably from project-based companies) and ideally a few years of experience from an audit firm
- Experience with month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, and accruals
- Solid knowledge of the Danish Financial Statements Act and VAT regulations
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills at a super-user level
- Experience with e-conomic
- ERP experience (Dynamics GP familiarity is a plus)
- Strong communication skills, able to present financial material clearly in English to all organisational levels
- Higher education within accounting or finance; a professional designation is an asset, but what matters most is solid, hands-on experience managing accounting from A to Z.
As a person, we value that you are:
- Structured and systematic in your approach to tasks and reporting
- Detail-oriented with an eye for coherence, efficiency, and quality
- Analytical and motivated to improve and establish new workflows
- Comfortable taking responsibility, initiating tasks and seeing them through
