The lab headed by Vera van der Weijden is looking for a skilled lab technician from the 15nd of April 2026.
Expected start date and duration of employment This is a permanent position from 15.04.2026.Job description You will be an essential member of a recently established international research lab.
In the lab, you will support ongoing research activities, perform routine tasks and drive an own research project.
All research activities will be in close collaboration with Vera and all other lab members.
Moreover, you enjoy training newly joined lab members common laboratory techniques.You will be involved in the following experiments: Cell culture of mouse embryonic stem cells Mouse work including surgeries DNA work including cloning Histology including immunofluorescence stainings Confocal microscopy Embryo work You will be responsible for routine tasks such as: Maintenance of lab safety, including registering chemicals in KIROS Ordering and invoice management Shipment of materials Organising lab supplies Preparing buffers and cell culture media for common use Your profile You are a trained laboratory technician and hold a FELASA A-D licence.
You have prior experience in mouse and zebrafish experiments.In the lab, the main language of communication is English.
Therefore, we expect you to have good skills in oral and written English.
Danish language skills are an advantage and prior experience with procedures at Aarhus University is an asset.
As you will be a key player in the lab, it is important that you can work independently and are responsible.
You will be working with people of many different nationalities and at different stages of training.
This requires you to have good communication skills, a high sense of responsibility and to be service-minded.
Who we are The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG) is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Aarhus University and comprises research within the areas of Plant Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, RNA Biology and Innovation, Protein Science, Cellular Health, Intervention and Nutrition and Bioinformatics.
The department hosts 158 full time scientific staff, 77 technical/ administrative staff and 83 PhD students.165 of the department's scientific staff and PhD students come from abroad from 49 different countries.
The department is responsible for two educations, Molecular Biology and Molecular Medicine, with a yearly uptake of 120 students in total.The lab of Vera van der Weijden is embedded in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.
The lab investigates the molecular drivers of fertility, by investigating embryonic developmental competence and implantation potential.
