Investigator – Digital Investigations

Role Summary

As a Digital Investigator at Defensive Global, you will play a key role in uncovering, analyzing, and documenting online threats and illicit activities that affect our clients. You will focus on digital investigations, leveraging open source techniques, data analysis, and intelligence tools to support clients in brand protection, anti-fraud, and cyber-enabled investigations.

This role suits an analytical professional with a proven track record in investigative work, strong reporting and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and executive audiences.

• Conduct digital investigations into online threats, brand abuse, and illicit activities.
• Use open source, digital forensics, and intelligence analysis tools to collect and validate information.
• Produce clear, high-quality reports and PowerPoint presentations for clients and management.
• Support ongoing investigations with structured intelligence and documentation.
• Identify key actors, networks, and trends across digital platforms, marketplaces, and social media.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure coordinated response and evidence handling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of investigative methods and digital intelligence workflows.

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in investigations, intelligence analysis and use of online open-source intelligence.
• Proven track record of delivering actionable intelligence and professional reporting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong written and visual presentation skills.
• Understanding of data privacy, evidence handling, and digital investigation standards.
• Experience in law enforcement, compliance, investigative journalism or corporate investigations is an advantage.

• Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong critical thinking.
• Comfortable working independently and remotely.
• Structured and capable of managing multiple tasks in parallel.
• Professional integrity and sound judgment in handling sensitive cases.
