Become a network volunteer in Tårnby At DRC we are looking for a volunteer network person for a young man in his early 20s. He hopes to meet for Danish and English training and fun social activities. Contact organisation He hopes to meet a volunteer who will practice Danish and English with him.He would also like to meet for social and active activities. This could be, for example, seeing Copenhagen, cycling, fitness, etc. He himself is really fond of fitness, music and art. As a volunteer, you can help create security, presence and positive experiences in his everyday life.
How to get started You agree together what you want to meet about, and when and how often it suits you both. Typically, you meet for a couple of hours every other week. We help you get started and offer ongoing sparring along the way. What does the role entail? The role of networker is flexible. The most important thing is that you: Have the time and desire to get to know another person and enter into an equal and supportive relationship.
Is spacious and welcoming. Speaks Danish and English. Is patient, stable and can meet approximately once every two weeks. Live in or around Tårnby (if you live further away, we will cover your transportation costs). Good relationships take time to build – that's why we hope you want to commit for at least six months, preferably longer.
What do you get as a volunteer? The opportunity to get to know another person and make a real difference in their life. Access to relevant, free courses at DRC Danish Refugee Council. Ongoing guidance from an employee at DRC Danish Refugee Council.
You will become a volunteer in the project Life Goes On, where you as a network person support another person with a refugee background who is, or has been, involved in trauma treatment. You will become the part of life that is not about treatment, but on the contrary, everyday life and good experiences that the two of you find together.
